Free MIDI Chord Injector

Drag and drop your MIDI file and let our harmonic engine analyze the structure, detect the key, and write the exact chord symbols. Get a solid draft with chords injected into the timeline, ready for human editing.

Instructions for Use

  • Drop the file: Drag your .mid file into the upload area. The system will automatically read and apply the original tempo and key signature.
  • Define the context: Select Solo Melody for a pure vocal line. Choose Multitrack if your file includes real guitars or basses, allowing the system to catch altered basses (slash chords).
  • Inject and Download: The algorithm will rhythmically subdivide measures to capture passing chords and dominants. Download your processed file in one click.

Parameter Glossary

  • Base Key: The system extracts this from your file's metadata, but you can override it manually if the piece has unrecorded modulations or lacks a key signature.
  • Time Signature: Defines the analysis resolution. In a 4/4 time signature, the scanner evaluates every two beats so it does not miss rapid harmonic changes in the middle of a phrase.
  • “Occam's Razor”: The engine is designed to be a conservative copyist. It discards ghost tensions and prefers efficiency; it will not force a seventh chord unless the melody mathematically justifies it.

Success Screen: Next Step

  • Straight to the Editor: Open the downloaded file in MuseScore 4. You will see the chord symbols positioned beneath their respective measures. You can configure the style settings to display them above the measures if preferred. Your base canvas is ready for the artisanal touch: adjusting ghost ties, writing the title, detailing the composer, and assigning the definitive instruments.
